This policy describes how vishal.dev, a personal site run by Vishal, handles information when you visit it. It applies to the public pages on this site.
What this site does not collect
There are no reader accounts, no payments, and no third-party analytics. You do not need to create an account to read anything here. The site does not ask you for a name or payment details.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, the site stores the email address you enter, that you asked to receive notes, and the time you subscribed. That address is used only to send those notes. It is not used for other mail. You can ask for it to be deleted by writing to the contact address below.
Server logs
The host that serves this site may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. Those logs are used to operate and secure the site. They are kept only as long as the host needs them for that purpose, and they are not sold.
Theme preference
The header icon switches the site between light and dark. That choice is stored in your browser under the local storage key theme. It stays on your device so the site can remember it. You can clear it by clearing site data for vishal.dev in your browser. The site does not send that preference to a server.
Cookies
The public site does not set its own tracking cookies. A host or security layer in front of the site may set a cookie that is strictly necessary to deliver the page. The admin area, which is not part of the public reading experience, uses its own sign-in credentials.
Sharing
Personal information is not sold. It is not shared for advertising. It may be disclosed if the law requires it, or to the company that hosts the site so the site can stay online.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only as long as it is needed for the reason it was collected, or as long as the law requires. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted.
Children
This site is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information here, write to the contact address below and it will be deleted.
Links to other sites
Notes may link to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices. This policy covers only vishal.dev.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the site changes. The date at the top is the date of the latest version. If the site later adds accounts or analytics, this policy will be updated before that happens.
